A center dance floor puts the party in the middle of the room and the tables around it. In Tablecharm this is the Center dance floor layout: guest tables on both sides and toward the back, a dance floor in the center, a bar on the left, and a focal wall at the front.
This shape works when dancing is the night, not an afterthought. Guests can reach the floor from any table without crossing a long empty stretch, and the room feels gathered rather than aimed at a stage. It also works in a square room where a front-only dance floor would leave the back tables stranded.
The solver still assigns people to tables, not to chairs, and it does not know what a dance floor is. What it does with this layout is fill the tables you placed around that open center. Paste the guest list, add keep-together and keep-apart rules, and press Solve. Households stay in one piece, hard keep-apart pairs are split across tables, and a table cannot take more guests than its seat count.
Choosing Center dance floor in the editor rearranges your existing tables around the middle and turns on the center dance floor and the left bar. If a table lands somewhere that does not match the real room, drag it. Then solve so the seating matches the furniture you actually have.

Does Tablecharm put a dance floor in the middle automatically?
When you pick Center dance floor, yes: the floor plan draws a dance floor in the center and moves tables around it. That is a room-layout choice, not something the solver invents during a solve.
Will the solver keep lively tables closer to the dance floor?
No. The solver seats by your rules and table capacities. It does not rank tables by how close they are to the dance floor. If someone should be near the front, pin them to a table that is, or mark them near the head table.
Can I hide the bar or the dance floor after picking this layout?
Yes. The layout is a starting pattern. Dance floor, bar, aisle, and stage each have their own controls on the Tables tab, so you can match the real room without leaving this shape.
