Import your guest list from Joy

Export your list from Joy, then paste or upload it here to start your seating chart.

Joy's guest list keeps names and party groupings so one person can RSVP for their whole household, and it can export that list to a CSV you can open in a spreadsheet.

Tablecharm reads that file by its header row, so a Joy export's First Name, Last Name, and Party columns map straight onto a guest and their group. Anything Joy adds that Tablecharm does not use, like a mailing address, is simply left out.

How to export your list from Joy

  1. 1.Sign in to Joy and open your guest list.
  2. 2.To export everyone, use the export option for the full list. To export only some guests, select them first and use the export-selection option instead.
  3. 3.The file downloads as a CSV, ready to open in a spreadsheet program.
  4. 4.Open it to confirm the header row looks right, then upload that file in Tablecharm with the CSV button in the guest panel, or paste the rows straight into the paste box.

What comes through

Tablecharm reads the header row and matches first and last name and the party a guest belongs to, so a household exported from Joy stays seated together. If your export includes an RSVP column, a guest marked declined is left out; everyone else comes through.

Names, party size, and plus-ones all come through automatically, so you land in the editor with a real guest list instead of a blank page.

The editor and solver are free to try. Unlocking every table and the printable exports is a one-time charge.

Questions couples ask

Does Tablecharm need a specific column order from Joy?

No. It reads columns by their header name, not by position, so it does not matter what order Joy puts First Name, Last Name, and Party in.

What if I only exported some guests from Joy?

That works fine. Import that file first, then add anyone else with the paste box or by typing them in directly. Tablecharm will not remove guests you add afterward.

Do Joy's party groupings carry over?

Yes. Guests who share the same Party value in the export are grouped together in Tablecharm, the same way Tablecharm groups a family or couple pasted in as a block.
